What is Yapwise?
Yapwise is a native Mac app that turns spoken thoughts into structured, editable mind maps. Use it for brainstorming, planning, studying, or getting an idea out of your head.
What Mac do I need?
Yapwise requires macOS 14 or later. Microphone and Speech Recognition permissions are needed for voice capture.
How does my voice become a map?
Apple Speech transcribes your voice. When you finish, Yapwise sends the transcript to its backend, where OpenAI organizes it into topics and connected branches.
Can I change the generated map?
Yes. Rename nodes, add branches, drag ideas to rearrange them, and undo changes. Your saved maps stay in your library.
How much is it, and can I cancel?
Yapwise costs $10 per month. Subscribe through the app using Dodo Payments. You can cancel in Settings; cancellation is scheduled for the end of the current billing period.
Does Yapwise store my recordings?
The inspected Mac implementation streams audio to Apple Speech; it does not upload audio to Yapwise’s backend. Transcripts and maps are saved locally and synced to your account. Apple Speech may process audio on Apple servers.
Does it work offline?
Generating new maps, signing in, billing, and syncing require an internet connection. The app keeps a local map cache, but the complete voice-to-map experience is not offline.
